This has been a little while coming as I have been too excited in involving myself in the new camera that I had not yet shared my thoughts and impressions on the Nikon D600.
So, before time moves on much further, here are my first thoughts and impressions.
The Nikon D600 is a beautiful product of precision engineering.
I love the shape, style and grip (Note: Some people say the grip is too small – but I find it a perfect fit).
I like the buttons and switches and dials and there are so many of them.
I like the feel of the camera. I had thought it would feel cold and impersonal but in actual fact it feels the opposite, warm and welcoming.
The Nikon D600 is a solid piece of equipment despite it being part metal and part plastic.
I purchased the D600 body alone as the Kit lens was out of stuck but managed to find the Kit lens at Grays of Westminster a few days later.
I am loving the experience of the D600 and the learning curve even though at times I am frustrated with the images that I produce. I am aware that I have a huge learning curve ahead of me. However, I would recommend the D600 to anyone looking to take up a hobby or to get into serious photography.
